Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

E is for ExcellentWell that’s an award we received recently thanks to Paul of the Homeowner’s Blog.  Thanks Paul! We would like to pass the “E” for Excellent Award on to some great blogs we follow.

Dave and Dan of Solar Power Rocks  really care about what they do (solar contractors) and it shows.  They are as passionate about solar power as it comes, and it shows.  Definitely add this Excellent blog to your reader!

Can’t forget Green Options! An inspired blog network that includes excellent blogs like Sustainablog and EcoLocalizer.

We have guest posted a couple of times on our next nod for being excellent, Triple Pundit. Nick offers insight on political and technical endeavors for a cleaner environment.

Though he hasn’t posted since June 1st, Jame’s Alternative Energy Blog, has been a long standing blog geared to rid the world of oil dependency.  I think he was one of the first bloggers with this mission.

Learn from a Pro: Michael Potts on Independent Energy

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

New Independent HomeWe’ve recently welcomed a special guest to “Ask the Solar Pros.” Michael Potts is the author of The New Independent Home and director of the Caspar Institute.

Our 3-part interview with Potts is abundant with information. First, he describes the endeavors of independent homesteaders who live off the grid in an effort to follow sustainable lifestyles. Second, Potts transitions from the goals and accomplishments of independent homesteaders to the challenges faced by the average homeowner. Here, Potts gives homeowners advice on how to increase their energy efficiency, even while being grid connected. Finally, Potts talks about how to make our lifestyles sustainable, without giving up on life’s simple, or even elaborate, pleasures.

View all three segments of the Potts interview here:

We hope you enjoy reading the interview as much as we enjoyed talking to Potts.
