Get Your ACME Solar System! or Bugs Bunny Stars in “Sunny Side Up!”

My favorite character has been and always will be the inimitable Bugs Bunny (Homer Simpson is a close second). It makes sense I suppose, considering that Bugs was largely based on Groucho Marx, and the Marx Brothers are still my all-time favorite comedy troupe. So the question of the day is this:

Would Bugs Bunny Go Solar if he could?

Well of course he would. Beyond the fact that he could boil his carrots anytime he wished, he could have fun with it as well. Just imagine:

It’s sunrise and Elmer Fudd is stalking through the forest, warning us to be “vawee, vawee quiet.”

Meanwhile, Bugs Bunny is using his solar electric system to power his industrial-sized Anvil-Maker that looks just like a tree and times it perfectly to drop an anvil on the unsuspecting Fudd as he walks by. And just to add insult to injury–a Bugs Bunny skill rarely matched–Elmer would fall straight into a special tiger trap filled with steaming water heated by Bugs Bunny’s solar hot water system.

BOOM! It’s a sale. Ring up the rebates. I can see the headline now: “Bugs Bunny Goes Solar, Local Hunter Sees Stars.”

Sure Bugs Bunny may have been a little violent, but his success rate was impeccable. And, look at it this way…he was a rabbit…you know he lived way off the grid.
