Buffalo, N.Y. Hosts Longest Running National Solar Conference this May

American Solar Energy Society (ASES) hosts America’s longest running solar conference. This year’s SOLAR 2009 conference in Buffalo, N.Y., which runs from May 11 through the 16th, will be highlighting huge economic opportunities this year.

ASES, now in its 38th year, is a leading non-profit solar energy organization, with a membership of 12,000 solar experts and advocates. Their conferences showcase the best talent and up-and-coming trends in solar. The conference attracts thousands of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and solar industry professionals each year. The conference will host crucial keynote presentations, workshops, public events, SolarSuccess training, tours, and a vast renewable energy trade show.

The event will be held at the Buffalo-Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin Street, Buffalo, N.Y. 14202.

Buffalo is no stranger to green living. The city utilizes clean renewable hydropower and has a growing number of wind power installations. It boasts a series of green buildings that are LEED certified, including the Burchfield Penny Art Center, BlueCross BlueShield, and the University at Buffalo’s new Life Sciences Complex. As a participant at the conference you can sign up for tours at many of Buffalo’s green projects, including a visit to an international environmental consulting firm in a LEED “platinum” building, Ecology and Environment (E & E) in Lancaster.
