New Solar Incentives on the S.F. Horizon

| Posted on January 9th in Solar News by Renee.

This afternoon, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission approved a new local, solar subsidy, and it’s expected to win approval by the S.F. Board of Supervisors next month. If passed, the plan will approve incentives ranging between $3000 and $5000 for homes and $10,000 and higher for businesses. These incentives would be funded with $3 million in dam revenue during the first year.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Assessor-Recorder Phil Ting believes San Francisco is heading in the direction of becoming the global solar capital.

The new subsidy, in conjunction with other government incentives at the state and federal levels, could cut solar home installation prices in half. Looking for a Bay Area-based solar contractor?
