The Growing World of Solar

This week’s solar links range from a corporate yard on the California coast to the golden Sahara desert. We have more breakthrough energy policy and a local government doing its part to roof America with solar panels. Once again these links stand above all else as a testament to the potential grandeur of solar energy, and fortunately all it takes to get a good look is a quick cyber-trip to Africa and back.

So we begin in the great Sahara desert in Africa, where a proposed solar project the size of a small country could power all of Europe.

Next a quick stop in Ontario, Canada, where lawmakers are aiming to beef up their existing feed-in tariff to boost solar power in the Canadian province.

Our third and final stop on this week’s solar link takes us all the way to Santa Barbara on the West Coast. Here the local government has taken steps to cut their power bills by installing solar panels on several rooftops occupying the city’s corporate yard.
