What’s the Future of Your Solar Rebates?

Tax credits for 2009 have yet to be extended, and the end of 2008 is fast approaching. Yesterday, though, we got our first sign of things to come, with the introduction of a new bill in the Senate. The Clean Energy Stimulus Act of 2008 would extend numerous credits currently in place and drop the $2,000 residential cap. Senators promoting the bill say it’s time to stop playing politics with our energy future and claim the bill will boost the economy, create jobs, and increase fossil fuel alternatives. We spoke with a Nick McDaid of N 2 Electric Inc. to get his opinion on the legislation. Check out our interview with him here:

Without the Federal Incentives we can definitely count on less people installing here in Washington. It’s great that there’s another bill introduced but this is the 3rd or 4th? Does Senator McCain ever plan on showing up to vote for one of these?

I know of 2 other bills that did not pass, and yes, McCain did not vote on either. Many Senators seem to think helping renewables takes away from oil and gas. Is McCain one of them?
