Yes, the evil oil companies are in bed with the current administation. Obama needs to call Al Gore and ask him to take over the department of energy ASAP. As the chief of staff has stated , we can not waste ant opportunity to push the agenda. Al Gore will make all Oil companies convert to green wind turbines and solar panels. Our cars can be retrofitted with solar panels and batteries and even install a small wind turbine under the hood. Then Al Gore could appoint Green Zars to police the conversion of all oil well sites to Solar and Wind Farms. He can also appoint other Green Zars, one to work with the department of energy and natural resources in all 50 states. He can tell OPEC to stop shippments to us ASAP, we are tired of making them rich , so that they can promote the building of their radical beliefs. Obama needs to think about converting Airforce 1 TO solar and wind driven.

In the interum Al Gore could issue government credits for a free bycycle for all Americans and even illeagals. The bike industry would show an increase in jobs. The folks could start riding their bikes each day, loose weight since we are all too fat anyway. We would reduce our carbon footprint and make Al Gore even happier.

Anyway does any of this sound logical , huh??

Jennifer, Politicians respond to the money that comes in to their coffers, and no one fills the coffers like Big Oil.

It amazes me how little politicians act for the benefit of people rather than corporations. Offshore drilling has, by almost any measure, so many more drawbacks than renewable energy sources. I was very disappointed in Obama's decision to promote it.
