According to Tim Blackwell, President and CEO of OneWorld Sustainable, solar energy provides the technology for sustainable living. Though Blackwell admits that living 100 percent sustainably is an impossible task, he is committed to reaching as close as possible to that ideal. With the help of Blackwell's efforts, OneWorld Sustainable is considered a forerunner among energy consultants and system integrators. The company provides PV, wind, and micro-hydro generations systems, energy efficient audits, and green building renovations. It also has a solar water heating division.

Blackwell began putting the OneWorld concept together in 2001, following 9/11. The company was incorporated in June of 2002. Today, the company encourages sustainable development throughout the global community. OneWorld has trade linkages in Kenya, where the company installed solar energy systems for families, business owners, schools, and clinics to provide lighting, TV and radio operation, and energy for vaccine refrigeration for marginalized communities. The company also received a $20,000 grant from the state of Georgia to develop a Solar School pilot program.

Homeowners can benefit from OneWorld's practice of looking at the bigger picture to measure the environmental impact of a project and determine how the best efficiency can be implemented. The process begins with the homeowner's budget and a consideration of all that can be accomplished within those parameters. Along with PV installation, homeowners will benefit from a system that releases zero emissions, provides critical backup power during outages, and can be tailored to suit unique electrical needs.

OneWorld Vice President and CTO Keith Freeman says the company will just keep growing, staying current on technology and continually reaching a step ahead of the curve.
