Their reflective materials emit more light than traditional skylights, and they are designed to distribute this light evenly throughout the room.

Rooms lit by traditional skylights, on the other hand, are known for having dark patches. Tubular skylights can provide as much as three times more light than traditional models.
Another model, the Natural Light Tubular, is similar to that of Natural Light Energy Systems. The Natural Light Tubular minimizes the transfer of heat and cold into the home through sealed shafts, absorbs 99 percent of harmful UV rays, provides three times as much light as a traditional skylight, is leak and heatproof, and is noise and maintenance free. Models come in a range of sizes beginning with the TSL 96 for small closets and powder rooms and continuing along to the TSL 900 for solar lighting suitable for large industrial spaces.
The tubular skylights have the capacity to bring daylight into the home without bringing in the heat. In fact, they produce up to 70 percent less heat than traditional alternatives.
