I would have called this one Boris (for all you fans of The Who out there), but the only thing creepy-crawly about the PowerPlus Spider Solar Light is the spidery way it hangs out on a window pane collecting solar energy. This variation on solar lighting gadgets uses three suction cups to adhere to sun-facing windows where it charges all day. Then, you can either use it where it hangs like a spider - for reading or RV camping - or take it down and attach it elsewhere.
While designed specifically to attach to a window pane, the Spider Light can be used anywhere and could make a great reading light above the bed or your favorite chair. And of course, its handiness on camping trips is obvious. At a low-low price of $8.00, it is certainly affordable. Although, I will say that other cheap solar gadgets - key chains and flashlights in particular - that I've experienced weren't exactly the most well-made or durable products I've ever owned. I would expect a lot of thin plastic and a few LED lights (the best part). However, that doesn't negate its usefulness, especially for all the other travelers out there...all you need is a window, after all.
