Solar Installation

Solar devices manifest in the forms of garden fountains, driveway lights, photovoltaic (PV) panels, hot water heaters, and so much more. Given this range in product offerings, solar installation can be as simple floating a solar pool cover over your backyard swimming area or as detailed as configuring a solar collector, filter, pump, and flow control valve to establish a pool-heating system. To get information on these installation questions and all your other solar-related needs, contact a certified solar installer. We’ve maintained 100 percent retention with our contractors for their efficient response to your growing demands.

In general, residential solar installation is required for the following two categories:

Photovoltaics

Many solar customers seek to convert sunlight into electrical power using photovoltaic (PV) devices. Each PV cell is made from a semiconductor, usually silicon, which enables electrons to create an electrical current harvested by metal borders. From there, it enters an inverter, where it can be transferred to a home’s utility panel for useable energy.
PV cells are usually installed to rooftops via panels, shingles, or tiles.

  • Solar panels are assembled perpendicular to the sun’s rays for maximum effectiveness. They can be mounted easily on sloping rooftops using frames.
  • Solar roof tiles interlock to existing roof tiles without screws. They do this by connecting to each other via MC or other suitable connector type used in photovoltaics. Tiles can be scaled to for size and individually replaced without disturbing surrounding tiles.
  • Finally, solar shingles take the place of the original, asphalt tile, and can be stapled directly into the roofing cloth. They take up less space than panels and can be positioned for optimal sun exposure.

Solar Heating

There are two methods of solar heating: active and passive. Passive solar heating garners energy from the sun without the use of mechanical or electrical devices. This is largely done through building structure and design and is advantageous for its low operation and maintenance costs. Active solar heating requires the use of pumps or fans to move and direct solar heat.
If you want to heat your water or space using solar power, having a solar collector is essential. There are three types of collectors to choose from: flat plate, integral collector storage, and evacuated tube.

  • Flat plate collectors are the most common type, used to generate hot water. These consist of rectangular boxes with transparent glazing that prevents heat from escaping while allowing sunlight in.
  • Evacuated tube collectors perform well in colder climates and feature solar absorbers with evacuated glass tubes that can reach higher temperatures.
  • In integral collector storage systems, the water itself is the absorber. This heating system is often used to preheat water before it reaches a back-up system.

Here is what some folks have said about CalFinder Contractors:

We are very pleased with Acro Electric. The entire process from estimate to completion of job was smooth and entirely stress free. They came out, took a look at what we had, and were very willing to work with us on just what our project required. There was never any pressure and they never attempted to sell us on anything out of our needs. This company has integrity, and that’s rare. I would certainly recommend them to anyone who wants only to deal with a reliable, honest company. In fact, I have their advertisement sign in the front of our home.

My experience with Cevista was nothing less than exceptional. They were friendly, clean, and professional. Their price was very competitive and the PV system works great.
