Changzhou Trina Solar Energy, most commonly known as Trina Solar, began as an installation company in China. The company has since grown into an industry-leading manufacturer of modules and their components. In 2006, a few widely known investors, including Meryl Lynch, became part of the Trina Group, allowing for their global expansion into the US and Europe, with offices in the Netherlands, Germany and the US. Between 2008 and 2009, Trina managed to double its shipment of megawatts.
